Everyone knows this Christmas song, it's been one of my favourites for many years but it really got to me when Gary Hoey made his guitar rendition on his album called Ho-Ho Hoey.  Not everyone understands its message, that the drummer is the one who gives the tempo. It isn't just about a poor boy bringing a song as a gift to Jesus, it's also about Jesus bringing one to us, giving us the step and the tempo to keep up with as best we can.



I just had to learn it but being less than a greenhorn cover offering is by definition far short of the real thing.
